This website was created by Pascale Warnant, Science teacher and author of Science textbooks and digital resources.
I have an interest in the use of technology in Science education, in particular the impact that the internet is having on education. The school where I teach has a 1:1 laptop programme and wireless internet access throughout the campus so computers are used in most Science lessons. I have created this web site to share resources and ideas with other Science teachers.
The next 5 years are shaping up to be a time of tremendous change in Science education. The introduction of the National Curriculum together with the roll out of computers to all students in years 9 - 12 in government schools will have a major impact on what happens in Australian classroom. A challenge for all Science educators is to ensure that the increased integration of technology facilitates learning, promotes greater engagement and deeper understanding of scientific concepts.
